Chester Cathedral Quarter Case Study

Date:  2011
Client: Building Design Partnership
Discipline: Arboriculture

The medieval Cathedral located within Chester city centre was the focus of a project to redevelop the site in order to increase visitor numbers and to boost the economy of the Cathedral and city.

The Cathedral Quarter plan involved redesigning the Cheshire Regimental Garden to further complement its surroundings and to create a new city square that gave a focus on the building’s southerly aspects.

The scheme aimed to create one of the most impressive City Squares in Europe, to help increase visitor numbers and boost the economy of the Cathedral and city.

Pinnacle’s involvement was to carry out a tree survey and accompanying report in order to satisfy the full requirements of the planning application and to avoid any delay in achieving planning permission.
